His specialty is long range assassinations. His marksmanship is incredibly accurate- genius level, perhaps. But he's a good all rounder and will do any job. They're generally done quickly, efficiently and with as little blood as possible. The only thing he's completely useless at is infiltration tactics.
If he's not assigned to anything, he's either at home or shadowing Hinata.]

But it's Kageyama so he must have gotten that.
He tilts his head at the direction of the bar they all hang out in. ]

The Everyman
In fact, also unlike many members of Karasuno, Yamaguchi hasn't killed anybody yet. He barely knows his way around most weapons, though he's trying hard to learn—as of late he's specially taken up learning how to throw knives, if only because (as his tutor explained) it'd be a useful skill to have in a fight where the other side was wearing bulletproof vests. Protection like that wouldn't stop a blade the way it would a gun, after all, and it'd be a skill nobody else had if he could get it right.
Between doing odd jobs for Sugawara and the other family members that come up, attending law school, and patching up noncritically injured people that don't want to go to Tsukishima, Yamaguchi's pretty much always busy and liable to be anxious over it. In the long term, he'd like to finish studying to be a lawyer, since that's something they'll definitely be needing in this line of work. Being taken in by Karasuno may not be the kind of life he always envisioned for himself, but Yamaguchi likes it here and he's going to do his best to be useful to the others. When he's not busy in class or on an assignment, Yamaguchi's probably hanging around Tsukishima, or else studying something work-related on his own.]

Both happened, this is Kageyama after all, but he comes back looking rougher than usual with a few cuts along his arms. Nothing life threatening, but enough to be annoying.]

And Yamaguchi keeps cropping up in reports of Karasuno's activities. Nothing major - only Kageyama is the type to land big gigs right after being recruited - but this and that, here and there. Which is why when Iwaizumi declared things to be running smoothly and kicked Oikawa out onto the street in an effort for him to get "some fucking rest, you obsessive bastard" he decided to look up what classes Yamaguchi is probably taking and wait outside his last lecture to catch him for a chat, looking like nothing more than a friendly guy in a nice suit.]

The guy's also a member of the rivaling mafia and he is smuggling diamonds and precious gems- within his body. Which is why Daichi left him in Tsukishima's capable hands. He had the space and had the means- all that was left was to get those diamonds out of the body.
Only he was running out on tranquilizer. He could've just killed the guy but that would be a complete waste. Karasuno needs money so Tsukishima will contribute in his own way- by removing and selling organs on the black market. And everyone on the black market knows that he never turns in bad stuff- it's always premium and always highly paid. If he kills the guy, organs will just stop working and he can't properly store them.
So he's waiting for Yamaguchi to show up with the drugs and ice. Since he just came home from meeting with Daichi, he was still dressed neatly. And he doesn't plan to change, only put the gloves on. There won't be any mess. He just wishes Yamaguchi would hurry up, the guy is stirring and muttering curses in his half-awake state.]

nishinoya's specialty was parkour and stealth missions - his small frame and natural flexibility made it easy. he could get to the tops of buildings to spot for the others, he could get into secure locations to make fast work of targets or steal anything. his hand to hand combat good, being tiny made him a harder target, but he doesn't have the strength of the others. he's a lot better off with weapons, at least a trusty knife. ]
no subject
Which is how Yamaguchi finds himself some weeks later, sitting at a corner table in the same bar that Nishinoya used to work. Yamaguchi's actually studying his textbooks for university in the late hour, reading patiently while other customers around him talk and drink. It's loud in here, and Yamaguchi wishes he could go upstairs to the lounge where the family does business, but he's still too uncertain of himself in this place to go anywhere unaccompanied that isn't front-facing to the public.
He thinks a few of the others might have been scheduled for assignments in the city tonight. But, it's hard to keep track of everyone's schedules when he barely knows them, even if they are kind of cool and impressive with all the stuff they can do.]

When she isn't at the bar, sometimes working and sometimes not, she tends to come and go as she pleases, just to observe her family. She often shows up whenever she's needed before you call for her. Weird. ]

Ever since he befriended Hinata, he seems to spend a decent amount of time around Karasuno's territory, sometimes using it as an escape from whatever errands Kuroo is trying to make him run. Kuroo seems to use him as a means of keeping their relations positive, but it's beneficial to everyone. ]

And sometimes Sugawara goes to the office, relays some information and kindly suggests who they should get rid off, how, when and why. They're just suggestions.
But most of the time he's outside, feeding strays and reaffirming friendships. ]

Afternoon, Sugawara-senpai. [Yamaguchi stands in the doorway of the room, knocking lightly to check whether or not the other man is busy. Yamaguchi looks cheerful and businesslike, despite the dark bags forming under his eyes.] I talked to Shimada-san on the phone again. Suppliers finally caved on the weapons for Kageyama, it sounds like we'll be able to get his equipment at the rates Daichi wants.
[And when Daichi gets what he wants, it's tends to go much better for the rest of them. Kageyama isn't an easy person to shop for, after all, and considering how strict the gun-control laws are here this is very good news.]

[ Bad habits are easy to pick up, and hard to put down. That's what his mother had said, tossing his pack of Luckies on his bed all those years ago. He hadn't quit, because he was young and stupid and convinced the nicotine helped calm him down. Helped keep a distance between who he was and who he needed to appear to be when standing beside Koushi and Daichi, trying to rebuild the Karasuno name. To have it mean something. Asahi doesn't like hurting people, but he knows how to make it look like he does.
The cigarettes are probably killing him, but he's willing to bet that won't matter in the long run. ]
( t w o )
[ The real problem with the gang lifestyle isn't all the blood that ends up on your hands-- and there is a bit, whether it ends up there directly or indirectly. In reality, it's all the blood that ends up on your clothes. Bright red on white that fades to rust, and eventually, just a pitiful lackluster brown, like a reminder that everyone eventually returns to the dirt. Its why they tend to dress down when they think there will be trouble; leaving the pressed white shirts and waist coats at home for things more easily thrown away.
Pulling at his shirt in the quiet of the back room, Asahi thinks he might actually have to burn it. There's too much blood spatter for it to go unnoticed should someone go looking through his trash. A shame, given that it was a gift... ]
( t h r e e )
[ For all the fingers that Karasuno has in various pies, there's a lot of down time to be accounted for. A lot of it. Some members handle it better than others. Asahi enjoys these peaceful times (probably because he thinks of them as such) when they can just be regular people. The threat of being tailed or targeted is always present, in this life it's inescapable, but he enjoys the simple things. Running errands, perusing the market, picking up flowers. ]

of course, when he comes into the room he comes to a dead stop at the sight of asahi. he's go blood all over him, and he looks miserable, like he just lost a fight or accidentally hurt a back alley dog.

/shuffles in here
the only thing that was really drilled into his head was that they were neutral. they held no loyalties, they held no grudges - any gang that had the money was a welcome customer of theirs.
upon inheriting the shop, keishin keeps that in mind for a time. he's lazy, for the most part, and doesn't plan to get involved with specifics anyway. it's the kind of thing that'll bring more trouble than he wants to deal with.
until a certain family makes a comeback and a certain weapons supplier he goes through insists he only wants to do dealings with karasuno.
and once keishin meets the leader... well, so much for not holding loyalties. ]
[[ ukai is basically the guy who owns an unassuming shop that specializes in backroom deals, specifically with the karasuno family as of late. thanks a lot for stealing his loyalty, guys.
anyway, on top of being able to get them just about anything they ask for, he's also the person to go to when somebody needs hiding or tending to. as grumpy as he can act at times, he'll never turn away a member of the family who needs a place to lie low or somebody to stop them from bleeding. or a drinking buddy, but that's a given. ]]
YAAAAAS imma tag the shit outta you w/takeda once I figure out what he's even doing
Yamaguchi frequently manages deal negotiations over the phone with Shimada, and other members of Ukai's so-called "Neighborhood Association." But, the number of times he'll have seen Ukai directly is easily counted by memory, and limited to meetings in a group. Karasuno has other, more reliable runners and ambassadors than Yamaguchi to be sending out. Or at least they're supposed to.
But of course something's off today—and no wonder, given how aggressively Seijou's been working the past few weeks to reclaim the territory it lost to Karasuno while "Grand King" Oikawa was out of commission. Kageyama was the first one caught, injured in a trap set by Aoba Johsai members, but Hinata and the others that came after got somewhat worse than the few minor knife wounds. There haven't been any permanent casualties yet, but everyone's tense about the close calls. And it's not only gang members Oikawa's trying to take out, but also its foot traffic, and business. All kinds of business.
It's late afternoon when Yamaguchi arrives at Ukai's. The knock at Sakanoshita's "undisclosed" backroom entrance is loud, properly coded with the Karasuno pattern, yet obviously impatient. If Ukai checked the security camera already, or checks it now, he'll see it's Yamaguchi there alone holding what looks like a parcel (briefcase) that he's delivering. Ukai's shop is longstanding in "the business" and technically still considered neutral turf among the gangs, but Yamaguchi's pretty damn anxious to be let in already so he's not just standing outside.
Yamaguchi's not handcuffed to his parcel this time. Last time he was, and he ended up with a hairline fracture on his wrist after some other guys got the jump on him—he supposes he should count himself lucky he didn't die in the end, and they did. After that fuck-up, Yamaguchi's determined not to let a minor injury slow him down, not while the others are in a pinch and everyone needs to be performing at their best.]

But he likes intimidating people, fighting, and making things explode so he eased into this relatively new lifestyle quickly. Chicks dig dangerous guys, right?
He should never be brought to stealth missions... ever. ]
no subject
But then, appearances can be deceiving. Takeda's more educated on that than most. His sweet smiles may not be deceitful, per se, but they do hide secrets. The information he has goes far beyond intelligence gathered from years spent working as an adviser to the National Security Bureau, which is the job that drew his attention to Karasuno in the first place. That was before the inspiring fledgeling gang drew his loyalty away from the government altogether...and kept it from there on out.
As a weapons trader and supplier, Takeda has connections both in and out of the country. Favors called in and doors banged down, conversations begun, relations forged; that's the nature of his work for Karasuno. There's nothing he can't make happen, given enough time and patience and determination. Takeda's no mobster, himself, but that hardly means he's a man to be trifled with. After all, whether or not you're affiliated with his favored family of Karasuno, the channels Takeda keeps open often mean the difference between a make and model of weapon being available in Japan in the first place, or a law passed, a trader's interest withdrawn, that leaves everyone in the underworld without a means of getting their business done. He's made it possible for younger gangs to claw their way up in the place of longstanding families that no longer managed petty crime and put the community's best interests at large. Takeda does what he can to stack the deck in worthy upstarts' favor, in lieu of effecting bureaucratic changes himself.
Even if you haven't heard of him personally, there's a good chance Takeda's heard of you. He probably even knows exactly what incentives you need, to get you willing and interested to do business. The danger in Takeda is not that he has any capacity for managing criminal violence himself (he doesn't), but how he's made himself well-liked and indispensable to many, many people that do. Takeda is persistent, and he knows everybody—if he's not busy working on something to help with Karasuno's affairs, then he's probably knocking on your front door for the third or fourth time this week, smiling and asking for favors. And it's on your own head if you think to turn him away.]
no subject
Part of the problem of proving Oikawa's position is he coordinates. He makes all the background activities flow smoothly, but tying his involvement to any one job is next to impossible. Every so often he makes a move on his own, leaves signs all over that he's the one to create chaos and line up bodies, but he claims he'd never be able to do it on his own.
He's also very annoying. Getting a straight answer out of him would be a feat deserving a medal. That is unless money exchanges hands. Any information he has is available for a price, but more sensible people realise that getting a counter offer makes what he has more dangerous than it's worth.
In general, Karasuno is a thorn in his side he'd prefer to ignore. They're loud, crass and have too many irritating members that would work better under Seijou's umbrella. But, while his distaste is common knowledge, he wouldn't admit he cares about them under pain of death.]
no subject
Extensive weapons knowledge and tactical skills, often used as the front man for Aoba Jousai when Oikawa's in a mood or busy and trusted to make hard calls.
Current concern: how can he be a threatening gangster when Oikawa calls him "Iwa-chan"?]
I liked the idea so I adopted it
So he studied, got licence to be a surgeon, but he never really got to any big hospital to ask for work. The only reason he went through with graduating is because of drugs, and what better way to obtain them than with acquired licence. Instead, he opened a small "clinic" at his home. Ground floor was "clinic", upper floor is his residence and basement is kept for "delicate business".
Clinic doesn't work as clinic because no one really wants to visit a surgeon that has penchant for forgetting the anesthetics. Even people from his own house refuse to visit him and the only time he gets to 'fix' them is when they are unconscious.
Aside from fixing people, he uses his skills to either: extract information from people because it hurts, it really hurts. Or he uses it to blackmail, whichever he finds the appropriate given the situation. He's really hard to intimidate or impress and there's only a handful of people he gives a damn about. No one likes him and the feeling is mutual.]
♥
But, there is at least one exception. And he's coming by to knock on the door to your clinic on Friday afternoon, holding a few bags from the bakery he visited earlier during errands.]
Tsukiiii~ [Someone's sounding chipper today—not that Yamaguchi is ever upset or angry when he visits, but he does seem to exude an aura of good-humored exhaustion. He keeps a busy schedule of 'work' and class at the university, but Yamaguchi always makes time for his doctor friend.
Letting himself inside the clinic, he'll bypass the lobby and head upstairs, hoping to find Tsukishima there so he doesn't have to interrupt anything grisly.]
Tsukki? Hey, Tsukki! [He didn't remember being told that Tsukishima would have any 'appointments' tonight, but then again it's not like the older man is obligated to give him all the details.] Sorry for the intrusion! I got shortcake for you while I was out today.
