[ The smallest nod, because Asahi knows Nishinoya is right. This isn't the first time Asahi's had to clean up back here; pull himself back together bit by bit after a night gone awry. Most of them are used to it by now-- the violence, the brutality.

Asahi tries not to let himself be affected, but it's difficult. ]

Seijou's mad dog.

[ It's known that Seijou runs a tight ship. They recruit, they don't adopt; and mistakes down't happen twice.

Asahi glances at Nishinoya, perched on the counter, a thought occurring to him-- possibly too late. ] Did you know him?

WHAT?!

[ it takes all of nishinoya's willpower not to jump asahi right there, because this was no small kill, at least not to him. tanaka and the mad dog had already been getting into fights, small little tiffs around town, and nishinoya had been there to back him up on almost every one. he wasn't anyone likable, sure, but that guy had power, and that sort of unpredictable violence in his fighting style that reminded him a little bit of hinata when that kid got really angry. ]

Asahi, that's huge! That guy has been giving Ryuu shit for weeks, he's really strong too, holy shit!

And that Oikawa didn't even care?

[ he knew seijoh was brutal, sure, but that guy seemed to be like some kind of special tool. to give it up so easily, to let asahi kill him without there being any repercussions? goddamn.]

Ah, please, Nishinoya- not so loud! [ Asahi pleads, knowing he's already pushing his luck when Nishinoya manages to stay seated on the counter. Of Karasuno's power players, Tanaka and Asahi rank fairly high-- they can hold their own in a confrontation, and Asahi has seen the damage Tanaka's taken after his run ins with Seijou's mad dog. Daichi'd been displeased, but there was never much they could do without starting something irreversible with Seijou's smiling captain.

The water Asahi rings from the washcloth runs pink in the sink. He'll have to remember to scrub it down with some bleach, once he's done. ]

If the order hadn't come from Oikawa himself, I wouldn't have done anything.

Are you fucking kidding me?!

[ nishinoya's voice boarders on shrill, any requests to not be loud long forgotten at the fact that oikawa had requested to have one of his own men killed, and asahi did it. something about the situation didn't sit right with him, like they were playing into oikawa's hands somehow, even if getting that dog out of the picture was to their advantage. stupid oikawa, that heartless bastard. and it was even weirder because asahi was so bloody - if it was just an execution, shouldn't it have been easier? like tying the guy up to a chair and duct taping a plastic bag over his head, or just freaking shooting him in the neck. it looks more like he had to get into a fist fight with a real mad dog, not a dude nicknamed that. ]

Oikawa just told you to do it?! And you did?? Did he try to pick a fight with you and Oikawa just gave you a gun or something like what even?!

[ each word is more excitable than the last, and he forces himself to stop at that, knowing asahi isn't enjoying this but holy shit. he's desperate to know now, not just for his own sake but for tanaka's, and weirdly, he finds himself thinking of kageyama, who could've been in the exact same position as the mad dog if he was in seijoh a second longer. ]

[ Asahi cringes as Nishinoya's excitement overtakes his ability to regulate his voice, his body nearly vibrating off the counter with unasked questions-- unasked, only, because he can't voice them all at once. Asahi is nowhere near naïve enough to hope Nishinoya won't ask them all, in due time. ] I wish I was.

[ In all likelihood, this was a powerplay; a test of sorts. Asahi can't see how, not now, with his heart so heavy and his hands going about the meticulous effort of cleaning himself up-- pulling himself back together by the ragged edges. He has to pull himself back from this, to rid himself of the memory of Kyotani's throat pulsing, wetly gasping for breath under his palms.

Asahi can't even close his eyes, the memory still to fresh to be blocked out like that. ]

Seijou's-- [ Asahi swallows. Reducing a person to a title is what they do, to make this easier-- but this shouldn't be easy. None of this is easy. When they put their lives on the line, they deserve to be thought of as people. Even Kyotani, if nowhere else, then here at least; not whatever piece Oikawa used him as. ] Kyotani never had a personal problem with me. You know I don't go out of my way to make enemies. I don't even think he knew what was going to happen tonight-- this was supposed to be a relations meeting. [ Asahi can't help but sound bitter, because as much as he hates this part of the job, he hates it even more when he has to do it alone. ]

Something serious is going on in Seijou.

[ nishinoya grinds his teeth together, because something about oikawa from the tips of his perfect hair to the heels of his shiny shoes just piss him off so, so much. and now he has all the more reason to hate - killing off your own man is low. nishinoya has no idea how he could do it, because to him this gang is more than that, it's family, these are the people he's putting his life on the line for, these are the people he'd take knife wounds and bullet holes for if it meant keeping them safe. for seijoh to operate like that, hell no. it's disgusting. ]

A relations meeting my ass! Did he invite just you? Did Daichi said it was okay?! I mean, if it was really about relations or some shit, wouldn't he want a bunch of us there??

[ he huffs again, chewing on his lip, because there is something he feels like he's forgetting, something that would make all of this worse.

something like oikawa having a very, very good sense of spinning stories to get his way. ]
