Wow, you worked for that long? Nice, Tsukki...!!

[If the awed look on his face is anything to go by, Yamaguchi's not the least bit disturbed knowing that Tsukishima's "work" involves the sort of questioning that would make him a criminal in the eyes of the United Nations Convention against Torture.]

[tsooki]

I didn't really have choice in the matter. Someone was bribing Kiyoko-san and Daichi-san asked to politely ask our friend about it.

[He takes a bit of the shortcake, trying not to give away just how much he's enjoying this little treat.]

[tsukkinice]

But you got it out of him, didn't you, Tsukki? [Yamaguchi can tell, that's why he keeps buying them for you.]

[tsooki]

Two toe thumbs and part of tongue later, I did. Already sent the message to Daichi-san.

[He takes another bite. The guy is knocked out while Tsukishima waits for instructions what to do with the dumbass.]

That's great! ...Really great, Tsukki...you're amazing.

[Yamaguchi's proud of his friend, and happy for him, that's enjoying his, er, work so much. But, he still can't help but feel jealous sometimes—not of Tsukishima's job itself (Yamaguchi's not sure exactly how well he could stomach it), but how obviously useful he is to other members of the gang. His cool, detached demeanor and perceptiveness is an immeasurable asset when it comes to interrogations like this, on top of his more antisocial tendencies.]

Hm, I wonder...

[He doesn't like his work so much, but it is one of the easiest jobs he's done. He doesn't have to think about stuff he does while performing 'surgeries' so 'accidents' are allowed. But when work piles up and things start to get really dangerous, he kind of wishes he's like Yamaguchi- it's tiresome sometimes to get involved in all of the things mafia does.]

[tsukkinice]

? [He catches that contemplative look. Yamaguchi lowers the small bit of shortcake on his spoon for a moment, so he can talk instead, his face inquisitive.]

Hey, is something the matter?

[tsooki]

Nothing really. [Another bite of cake.] I just wished this job we have allowed some kind of vacation. They make it look as if they will instantly die if we step out of town.

[A trip to onsen would be amazing.]

[tsukkinice]

Your job is very important, Tsukki...

[Yamaguchi personally doesn't mind working hard, if it's for the gang. It's why he's got bags under his eyes more days than not, from spending all his time divided between classes and calls and meetings and studying up to try and desperately keep up with his law degree despite also working part-time for Karasuno.

You can't just take a break from your own team, Yamaguchi almost wants to tell his friend. But, he's so used to going along with whatever Tsukishima does after all these years that instead he merely lets the words die on his tongue.]

[tsooki]

I didn't say it wasn't and that I won't do it... but going to onsen from time to time and not thinking about anything sounds really good.

[And tempting. But he knows that Yamaguchi's trying his best to impress the family so he's not bringing up the matter to him. He's the one with lots of stuff to do, not Tsukishima. He just has to torture a guy or two and patch up wounds.]

[tsukkinice]

It sure does sound nice, when you put it like that…

[Yamaguchi will admit as much, eating his bite of cake with a wistful expression. He hasn't had any free time to himself—not to relax, at least, or which he wasn't using for attempts at self-improvement—in quite some time, so a vacation like Tsukishima's suggesting sounds awfully tempting. Yamaguchi would even settle for a few days skipping through class to sleep, though of course he never will.]

Careful, though, Tsukki. If you let the others hear you talk about going to the onsen, they'll probably get all excited…and turn it into some new idea for a 'training camp.'

[tsooki]

Dear god no...

[He can almost imagine all of them at the onsen, the yelling and laughing and making fun of the personnel. Too tiring and too loud- onsen is about peace and relaxation not amusement park.]

I will sneak out once this thing with Kiyoko-san is over.

[tsukkinice]

Ah. ...Then, you're gonna go alone? [Yamaguchi's not sure he could relax fully in a place like that, if he was by himself. He'd get fidgety and distracted. But Tsukishima seems fairly comfortable in solitude most of the time, so it isn't too surprising.]

I was planning to take you along. [He says 'planning' but the tone says 'you're definitively coming' and 'your school has nothing on me. He casually takes another bite of the cake.]

[Yamaguchi swallows, recognizing that tone in Tsukishima's voice as much as he does the fact that it would be absolute hell to attempt to get that much time off school AND work.]

Umm...that does sound nice, but...there's a lot of stuff I have here that's really...

Stuff like what? I can help you out clean up stuff if needed.

[If it's teachers and professors, Tsukishima can handle them. He doesn't look bothered at all.]

It will be only two days

[tsukkinice]

N-No...I mean, that's not necessary! [Yamaguchi's sure that Tsukishima could definitely find a way to make it happen, if there was anything Yamaguchi needed to permanently get out of in order to have the weekend free, but he doesn't want to burden his friend with extra work on his account. Or endanger his professors or Karasuno's dealer contacts, for that matter.]

...I'll probably be able to work something out...

[He doesn't mind doing some 'extra work' when it's for Yamaguchi. And he is a lot smarter than half of the people in the mafia- he knows how to cover up tracks. Otherwise he wouldn't be doing what's he doing now.]

Then that's good. You'll be able to recharge before going back to studies.

[Taking a break is good sometimes Yamaguchi, listen to the doctor.]

[Yamaguchi hesitates.]

I'm just afraid that if I take a break, I'm gonna be a mess and forget everything when I try to come back. It's hard to just pick up where I left off.

[tsooki]

Well, if you are that afraid, maybe you should bring some stuff with you and we'll go over it when we're there.

[Aka he's offering to help out with studying. In which way, he won't tell. He... maybe has some naughty plans.]

[tsukkinice]

...? [This, Yamaguchi wasn't expecting. Though not in an unpleasant way.]

Uh...you got it, Tsukki! [Yamaguchi's obviously a bit surprised—while Tsukishima usually doesn't mind hanging out to work or study together when asked, he's also far less likely to initiate those kinds of things without Yamaguchi suggesting it first. From the sounds of it, Tsukishima must really want him to come along to the onsen. That finally makes up Yamaguchi's mind for him, as well as a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.]

[tsooki]

[He doesn't want to go alone for two reasons- one: Daichi will question him what he did all by himself and two: girls will flock him when they see he has no company. Perhaps there's third reason but Tsukishima's very reluctant to admit that it exists.]

Very well then. We can go this weekend. I'll make arrangements, you just pack.

[Whoa wait that's two days from now–] That soon??

[Crap. Well, Yamaguchi can...probably...he'll find a way to make it work, somehow. It's only for two days, and he wants to hang out with Tsukishima too; it's been a long time since they've had any time to spend themselves outside Karasuno. The planning for the trip will be hell, but Yamaguchi knows it'll be worth the effort, especially if Tsukishima is going through all this trouble just to bring him along.]

Okay...well, I'm gonna head home if that's the case, all right, Tsukki? I've got some stuff to do for Sugawara-san before the weekend!

Ah, since you're seeing Sugawara-san...

[Tsukishima sets down the plate and gets up, exiting the living room for a short time. He returns with a thick, green folder in his hands, glancing over the contents.]

Hand this over to him to pass it to Daichi-san. You'll be doing me a favor. [Chasing down Daichi to hand it to him is a task he'd rather not do now when he has plans for trip. Handing stuff to Sugawara is like giving stuff to Daichi himself.] The medical records he asked about that Nekoma leader are in there. Don't lose them.

[Yamaguchi smiles, pleased that Tsukki trusted him to help.]

Sure thing! Just leave it to me, I'll get it to him tonight.

[Yamaguchi knows better than to ask about the particular details of that folder's contents—it's probably either not the sort of information he's privy to or expected to be in the loop about, or (just as likely) it's the kind of information he's happier not knowing. Tsukishima's work can be pretty unpleasant at times.]
