Sure. Um... [Yamaguchi hesitates, not wanting to be more of a bother than assistance. but ultimately pipes up-] I can help if you need me to, Suga-senpai?

[ If only he could accept the help. But he doubts that Yamaguchi's ready to deal with the things he's handling right now. ]

Keep me company? How is the Neighborhood Association doing?

It won't bother you?

...Oh, right! The Neighborhood Association...it's hard to tell, but I'd say they're doing pretty good right now compared to a few months ago? Thanks to all the attention on our turf this year. [They're definitely happy that Karasuno's growing, as it means more clout and reputation for them too as an affiliate organization.] Shimada-san's been teaching me some stuff about weapons at his shop, when he's not working the front.

[After negotiations are complete, of course. Anything Yamaguchi does has to keep Karasuno's business in mind first.]

[He wouldn't ask for it if it would bother him.]

Haha. Should I expect very specific weapon requests from you soon?

[He could talk Daichi into getting Yamaguchi wants if that happens, but it has to be really worth it.]

Ah, probably not! I've still got a long way before I can hit anything reliably. [it'd be a waste of money to invest any money in him before that point.] It's only throwing knives, anyway.

[Outside of Shimada's tutoring, Yamaguchi's also done regular training in firearms like everyone else that wants to be a member of the gang. But his skill is below-average at best, even though he tries to put as much time aside for it as he can.]

[Throwing knives? They're a little unconventiona but can be practical after a lot of training. It's generally easier to get ones hands on a blade than a firearm. But ordinary knives are unwieldy. Thrown in the same manner, a butter knife, a kitchen knife and a throwing knife will all fall in different directions. Until Yamaguchi is better trained, which might take a while, he'd better stick to knives made specifically for throwing.

He'll leave that all to Yamaguchi and Shimada-san for now. Still, Sugawara smiles proudly before going back to work.

He concentrates his attention towards the computer screen, a tiny, thoughtful frown creeps on his lips. ]

Yamaguchi, how good are you at handling older women?

[The younger man seems to have this air around him that makes older men want instinatively treat him like a timid younger brother, but with women...]

Eh? [Yamaguchi gives him a strange look.] Older women?

Um...how do you mean...

[ If it was any other situation, Sugawara's smile would probably be reassuring. ]

I just want you to talk to Mamiko-san. Tell her that we think her concerns are valid and that we'll do something about it.

[ The less Yamaguchi knows about the pharmacist's concerns, the better. That way she won't be able to weasel any information out of him. Plus she could be doting to the point of stalking. It was hard to shake her off Hinata's trail before. ]

[A bit of an odd request, but hardly the worst thing he could have asked. Yamaguchi smiles and tries to look confident about it.]

Okay, Suga-senpai! Leave it to me. [Yamaguchi's awkward around people sometimes, but not especially shy, even if he tends to sink into the background of situations by default. He thinks he can handle talking to a pharmacist.] Do you have any idea what sorts of things she might ask me about? I don't want to go in totally unprepared...

[He doesn't need details, but Yamaguchi would prefer not to be blindsided completely if she starts asking for details on a subject he wasn't expecting.]

I have an idea. [ Of course he does. But fine, he'll throw Yamaguchi a bone. ] Stomach medicine, probably. Take a few detours before heading home.

[ Don't get stalked by clingy middle aged women, Yamaguchi. ]

Ah, right.

You want me to take care of that now, Sugawara-senpai? [It's not late enough that Yamaguchi usually would be leaving—in fact, half the time he just stays right through the night when he's allowed, keeping busy with books and emails until it's time to leave for class again—but if Sugawara asked him to do something in particular, then that's his highest priority now.]

Right! [He looks eager about the job, at least. He likes being useful to the others in whatever ways he can, even if they wouldn't use him for anything on the 'front lines' yet by a long shot.]
