[ Maybe he should have just gone to Daichi with this... whatever it was, swimming around in his chest, in the first place. Or maybe it's that Suga's been gone on assignment too long, and Daichi's been busy, and it's felt like there's been no time for this kind of thing between them. A cigarette and a laugh, the gentle teasing that's still helping him grow into his skin.

Asahi fishes his cigarettes out of his pocket, the need for one (to calm his nerves, to fit him back into his skin) giving way to the simple, uncomplicated want for one. The burn of smoke in his nostrils, coiling savory and thick in his lungs. ]

Wouldn't you have to leave your office once in a while, to do that?
corvidad: (wow such normal much cool)

[ daichi takes the last long breath of his cigarette smoke before blowing it out, letting the laughter go with it and crushes the butt under his heel. ]

I can't dump all the paperwork on Ennoshita and Kiyoko.

[ and there is so much fucking paperwork. it's insane. their taxes had to look in order on false bank accounts and real ones, making mock paper trails here and there, keeping track of not only the sales of their own bar but of the underground merchandise, keeping eyes on their allies as well as their enemies, and the law on top of that. it was endless. at first he didn't mind it, it was part of growing their little gang and making money, but now it drove him mad. there was only so much of this he could do without help, and he was seriously considering pouring more and more of it onto the others.

daichi, in all honesty, needs a solid mission outside the office so he can fucking go already.
]

At least, I can't without a good reason.
uneasily: (that fire in your heart ( ITS CATCHING ))

[ What Daichi does to keep this operation afloat, to skirt them past the prying eyes of the government and under the radar of the ever increasing police presence in Miyagi, not to mention the way he always seems to get just what he wants from their allies without giving too much in return-- its incredible to Asahi. He knows they work as a team, they're all bargaining chips in the shape of people with very specific skills, but Daichi pulled them all together. He keeps them working as a unit, toward-- if not peace, then at the very least, cohabitation.

Asahi lights up, pulling in his first blissful lungful of smoke as he shakes the flame from the match's tip. ]

Maybe have Tsukishima and Yamaguchi stay in tonight? Ennoshita likes Yamaguchi enough. [ Jury's still out on Tsukishima, but that's how these things go. Asahi's smile is little more than an upward curve of his lips as he exhales, feeling oddly excited at offering to hit the streets with Daichi. ] Let's make sure their run is done right. Call it a quality control measure, and you might even get it by Kiyoko...
corvidad: (no need to brag but i have best buns)

[ ...oh, now there is an idea. things got so busy as soon as all the new recruits came in that daichi and the others poured their time into teaching them all how to work on the streets and in the bar, but very little on the behind the scenes considerations. to be fair, he's not sure kageyama or hinata would be good at it, much like the way tanaka and nishinoya were absolute shit at it, but yamaguchi and tsukishima would definitely be good. plus, asahi and kiyoko had just pulled in yachi, who was more than excelling in keeping their books straight.

a grin, a real honest one cracks over his face, because of all people it's asahi giving him ideas to play hookey from work. not like he was going to complain - he's been missing the simple, more dangerous work of patrolling the streets.
]

That's not a bad idea at all, the two of them and Yachi, and Kiyoko and Ennoshita could teach them the ropes to work on the papers in the future when they're in.

[ like work training, you know, except about blood money. classic! ]
uneasily: (incredible delinquent ( PLS NO I CRY ))

[personal profile] uneasily 2015-01-20 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[ What is the point of having underlings if you can't ruin their nights by stealing their cool job and foisting your boring paperwork on them? No point, that's what.

Asahi flicks some ash off the tip of his cigarette, pleased with how quickly Daichi is taking to the suggestion. It's been a while since they've gone on a run together; their schedules demanding they leave the simpler, but arguably more fun tasks, to their less versed members. ]

Dibs on not telling them their shift's been swiped from under them.

[ Asahi: so full of good ideas he has no room for courage. ]

No, you're telling Ennoshita, Kiyoko, and Yachi, I'll inform the rest of them.

[ Dacihi: not letting him get away with that shit, not ever. He only concedes to taking Tsukishima and Yamaguchi because he's not sure they'd listen to anyone else. ]
uneasily: (not here for this ( TOO SCARY IM OUT ))

[personal profile] uneasily 2015-01-20 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Well, that deal worked out suspiciously in Asahi's favor.... The amount that Asahi adores Yachi is kind of unreasonable, and he doesn't have nearly as much trouble talking to Kiyoko or Ennoshita as he does with most people. Surely they'll be fine with accommodating Yamaguchi and Tsukishima...

Unless-- ]

They... are supposed to be working tonight, right?

[ Daichi..... dont be a dick...... ]
corvidad: (asahi you absolute kumquot)

[personal profile] corvidad 2015-01-20 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Ennoshita is supposed to be on patrol watching Wakun, and Kiyoko was on schedule to work the bar. But it should be fine to change that around.

[ basically: they're stealing ennoshita's job for a joy ride and mostly to scare the shit out of wakun because, well, he said so. what's the fun in being the big boss if you can't just screw around with schedules on occasional whims? ]
uneasily: (you believe ( SO I CAN TOO ))

[personal profile] uneasily 2015-01-20 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[ In the relative scheme of things, Daichi has screwed Asahi over in worse ways before. Swapping schedules is far less of a bargaining act than getting people to come in when they've already settled into the mindset of having the day off-- or, night, seeing as the sun is slowly losing its battle to the horizon.

Asahi pulls in another satiating lungful of nicotine, the tip of his cigarette flaring red. ]

Okay, okay. Let's do this. [ Taking one last drag, Asahi leans over and stubs his cigarette out on the roof's cool cement tiles, keeping the filter in hand because he hardly has to look cool in front of Daichi. Besides, this is their property; littering on it seems backwards. ]

I'll meet you out front in, uh [ They don't really need to be dressed up for a joy ride, but Daichi probably wants a chance to change-- as well as wrangle the younger members into their new job for the night. ] Twenty minutes, or so?
corvidad: (thank god im volleyball)

Make it thirty, I'm not sure when Tsukishima will be back.

[ he's actually really excited - he hadn't done this in what feels like months. usually if he goes out it's for business, whether for pick ups or for catching some very specific people, or setting something up (diplomatic or otherwise). getting to do the basics, especially with asahi, would be a fun change of pace.

and really, what could POSSIBLY go wrong?
