[It's not like strange things haven't happened to Red before - there was the accident in Cerulean Cave, after all. Topping that was the whole experience on Awesome Island. Red's never had a hard time suspending his disbelief, either.

So really, it isn't too much of a strain on his brain to have himself sleeping in his cave. That is, another him. Not him him, but some other kid who looks just like him, if a little older and less pale and built just a touch larger (Red is the stringiest bean to ever be a string bean).

[While you were probably in the midst of a lovely Option 4, Red, there is a clatter from upstairs. Something like a raccoon Rattata breaking in to cause trouble. Should you find it worth investigating, there is something very not a raccoon Rattata involved.]

Since the fiasco with that girl - Hikari - and his newest play thing - Cyrus - he'd been free to explore the world again and his siblings hadn't beenable to do a damned thing. Not the the Renegade cared. His siblings could all end up in Masterballs as slaves to humans for all he cared.

He was free.

He was curious.

Red just happened to be the first person he spotted.

[ Red's first clue that something is very wrong is his own pokémon. Eevee's usually pretty tame about dealing with new arrivals—especially compared to the rest of his team, the ones who had been with him at Silph Co. The normal-type usually doesn't react with hostility like the others.

So when Eevee stiffens in the middle of an attack and starts to bark at something in the air, somewhere behind Red's back, he doesn't hesitate. He darts forward and scoops up the pokémon in one swift movement, skidding as he turns around to look with wide eyes at Giratina.

What is that thing. What is—it's enormous. It's terrifying they have to get out of here. It's no pokémon Red's ever seen before, not even close. He knows he should try and catch it for Professor Oak—but what if it decides to—to—

He can't do this. Shaking all over, Red glances around in a panic for the best escape route. There's a dense thicket of trees over there. He won't get far into the woods, but maybe the cover will be enough. At least he might be able to release a stronger pokémon. ]

[On the second floor of the Pokemon Mansion, where there once was nothing, there is a girl wearing a bright red coat. She appears without light, sound, or fanfare, save for the floorboards creaking suddenly underneath her weight. She views her dusty surroundings with an apathetic and impartial eye: this isn't the first ruined building she has quietly explored. She adjusts the white bag on her hip and begins to walk, toe to heel, in a straight line through the abandoned halls of the mansion.]

[Dawn doesn't know where she is--yet. But when she finds that out, she'll know which way she needs to walk to get where she wants to be.]

[ Red clambers up from the nearest staircase, coughing into his hand. He hasn't been in here long, but he's already covered in soot and dust. There was a fire in this place, once. A protective-looking Pikachu trots diligently at his heels.

As they round the nearest corner, Red catches sight of a figure in a red coat. He freezes, caught off-guard. He'd been sure there wasn't anyone in here.

On cue, Pikachu begins to growl, rather aggressively. Both trainer and pokémon are wary of unexpected strangers. ]
