Oh and IT'S SNOWING EVERYWHERE. JSYK.

Dawn's second thought upon arriving: But I'm closer than I was before.
(She doesn't realize yet how far she's managed to wander from "her" home Region by traveling across the Mystery Zone.)]
[On the second floor of the Pokemon Mansion, where there once was nothing, there is a girl wearing a bright red coat. She appears without light, sound, or fanfare, save for the floorboards creaking suddenly underneath her weight. She views her dusty surroundings with an apathetic and impartial eye: this isn't the first ruined building she has quietly explored. She adjusts the white bag on her hip and begins to walk, toe to heel, in a straight line through the abandoned halls of the mansion.]
[Dawn doesn't know where she is--yet. But when she finds that out, she'll know which way she needs to walk to get where she wants to be.]

As they round the nearest corner, Red catches sight of a figure in a red coat. He freezes, caught off-guard. He'd been sure there wasn't anyone in here.
On cue, Pikachu begins to growl, rather aggressively. Both trainer and pokémon are wary of unexpected strangers. ]

Oh well. If push comes to shove, she'll just let Lucario take care of it...]
[...]
[Oh, there's another person here.]
... ... ... [How do you deal with people again...? They're not Pokemon, so FIGHT/POKEMON/BAG/RUN doesn't necessarily apply.]

Red looks up at Dawn, trying to figure out what she's doing here, and what she might want from him. She's got the look of a trainer, but she's not as loud as most of them usually are. And she hasn't asked for a battle yet, even though she's seen him and there's nowhere he can go to back out of it. ]

Hmmm. [... battling is a waste of time that she could be using to find Hoenn... maybe this boy will get lost so she won't have to stomp him?]

...But it doesn't look like she's going to. After a moment, some of the tension visibly goes out of Red's shoulders, just a little, and Pikachu relaxes too. No battle. Given how unstable the floor is here, Red's pretty relieved to avoid it. The girl in front of him definitely doesn't have the look of a burglar, and if she's not a trainer, then he doesn't have as much to worry about. Girls are usually less dangerous on the whole, especially if they're not grown-up yet. Not always, of course—Sabrina, he thinks with a dull pain of remembered hurt and anger—but usually.
With that concern no longer weighing so heavily on his mind, Red finally stops to look around the floor he just came up to. The hallway ahead is littered with debris and chunks of plaster and concrete, so he'll have to be extra careful as he walks. On his left, the hall branches into an open room a few yards away. Red thinks he can see the corner of a table peeking out from inside. Maybe there'll be another diary on it. His skin prickles uncomfortably at the thought, but he determinedly ignores it.
Still keeping a cautious eye on Dawn, Red and Pikachu begin to move forward, slowly. ]

[She watches him impassively has he begins to explore, standing perfectly still. If Red watches her carefully, he might be able to see her breathe... or is that just a trick of the musty light?]
[Dawn doesn't know where she is. All she knows is that she is, without a doubt, not in Sinnoh. She has made a huge step forward in her journey... but it's not far enough. She wants to know exactly where she is, so she can continue on in her journey. She steps forward and, with exact footsteps, quietly follows behind Red.]

It doesn't take him long to figure out that she's following him, though. When he's sure of it, Red's footsteps become more stiff and mechanical, movements forced, and he struggles not to shake as he walks—which is especially obvious compared to Dawn's precise, even footsteps behind him. He can't think with her so close and so obviously zeroed in on him.
Who is that girl she's following him. Wants something. Red knows she wants something. But she didn't say anything and he doesn't know and now he has to guess and if they don't say it that sometimes means they want—
Pikachu growls low in its throat, glancing back toward Dawn every few seconds. Red halfheartedly motions for it to be quiet, finally ducking into the room on the left when he reaches it. As soon as he's in, seemingly out of Dawn's sight at least for a moment, Red bolts for the rickety wooden table, putting it between himself and the entrance so there's a barrier between himself and the strange girl. It's not much, but it's better than nothing. Anything's better than nothing standing between them (everyone, anyone) and him.
Heart still racing, Red then chances to look down at the diary sitting on the table in front of him. Most of the pages are burned, and they'll crumble if he touches them, but...he can still make out a little bit of the beginning...
"MEW gave birth. We named the newborn MEWTWO..." ]

The boy's footsteps are shaky. Why? There is debris on the floor, but nothing that would really impair his footing... how strange. But, with the way he's walking, he will probably trip and fall.]
[When he ducks into the room, she momentarily loses sight of him. She doesn't mind. It's not like he has anywhere that he can really run. It's not like he has any Pokemon that could possibly stand up to hers.
Dawn continues to follow him, the floorboards creaking underneath her footsteps. It's impossible to mistake the slow, but steady progress of her presence. She stops in the entryway to the room, resting a pale hand on the doorframe.]
... ... ... [She wants to ask him about Hoenn. But, he's reading right now...]
scaaaaaaary noises
Managing to keep himself still, he waits, hardly daring to breathe. He stares at Dawn's face, waiting for her to say something. He knows he must look wary or even agitated, but it's no good trying to hide it now. What does she want from him? Red should ask, get it over with, but that's rude, isn't it? And besides, he can already feel his throat constricting nervously at the thought of trying to talk. He can, he still can talk, it's just—it reminds him too much of—he doesn't want to talk. That's all.
Is that girl going to move? ]
...?
