Well...if you really want me to...? [At least Oikawa's not asking him to eat off his spoon again? Then again, it feels weird to just reach across the table and take his drink.]
All right... [Hesitantly, Yamaguchi reaches forward and pulls the drink over the rest of the way, tentatively sipping through the same straw Oikawa already used out of habit. By the way his eyes widen in surprise, it's obvious he enjoys the taste.]
[Oikawa might watch a little too intently as Yamaguchi sips from his straw. He's a sap and he likes that Yamaguchi didn't hesitate before taking it.]
I told you it was good, vanilla milkshakes are superior to most things. [Like things that are rich, spicy, too sweet, too salty, too bitter and so on.]
[He likes dipping his bread in his milkshake so he shouldn't judge. Especially when, given french fries, his temptation is also to dip them in his milkshake, a habit Iwaizumi actually succeeded in driving out of him. But he is judging. Just a little.]
You like your french fries not crispy? [Now there is a real undercurrent of laughter in his words. Hopefully Yamaguchi won't take offence.]
A little weird, Yama-chan. [Has he not told anyone that his favourite food is limp french fries before or is it just that Oikawa is the only one to think it's hilarious and adorable?] Most people think that the good thing about french fries is their crispness.
I'll keep that in mind. [Because obviously he'll be brining Yamaguchi fries at some point and heaven forbid they're not appropriately droopy. He's disproportionally charmed by this fact about Yamaguchi and a little bit of it is that Yamaguchi bothered to tell him it.]
[Still smiling, Yamaguchi continues sipping out of the straw without paying attention, only realizing it when it begins to suck through air instead of the finished shake.]
Ah. [He glances down at the cup, confirming ruefully it's indeed empty.] S'all gone...I meant to leave you some, sorry.
[He averts his gaze, figures he'd start blushing now. Yamaguchi's just so eager] Here or somewhere else. There are lots of places that serve a nice milkshake.
But...I mean, w-with...me?? [Yes, he's still in shock over that. STILL. It'd be easy enough to believe if Oikawa was someone he'd been on friendly terms with, or one his own teammates, but when it comes to anyone that could be considered a date date Yamaguchi's insecurity runs deep.]
[Yamaguchi might be freaking out about being a date but all his fuss is making Oikawa remember that he hasn't had a date with someone he likes before. That if he messes this up he could get hurt. But Yamaguchi is worryingly worth it.]
[With a strangled noise, Yamaguchi pulls his hands back to press them over his face. He hunches over the table again, red-faced; but this time, it doesn't seem to be from embarrassment.]
O-Oikawa-san! [His voice is a little muffled, but not distressed, like he's actually happy to be hearing this (for all it makes him uncomfortably warm in the face).] I-I don't know what to say, to a thing like that...!

I've had most of it, Yama-chan. And you haven't had anything to drink at all.

Not at all, though it comes close. Milk bread is my favourite. [Is there a trend here? Yes there is.]
Do you have a favourite food, Yama-chan?

Um...yes...is that weird? [That's what he says, at least, his meaning is closer to 'Is that bad?']

That you'd like to would be a start.
