[Red rubs his wrist a bit when Green finally lets go, falling obediently into step behind him. It's almost like when they were kids, and Green would always insist on deciding where they went, dragging Red along anyway if he wasn't deemed cooperative enough.]
Is this place new? I don't remember it being there last time I came to Viridian.
Yeah, they built it about a year ago. Trainers always want food, even if the gym wasn't running here back then. [ Until Green came along and did the world a favour. ] The couple who run it came up with it after travelling all the way to Unova. They say there's places all over there that look like this.
[ Not a look Green would ever pick himself. ]
The food's good anyway. [ With that he slips onto a seat, taking the menu already there. ] That's why you're going to buy me some.
[At the last, Red's distracted from looking around at the cool café to give Green a nonplussed look.]
Oh...um, right. [Green mentioned that earlier, didn't he. even if Red has no attention span whatsoever to remember things] Sure, I can buy you stuff. [Red's got no clue how much credit is currently on his trainer card, but he thinks he has some bills in his vest pockets somewhere from a trainer he beat on the way back from Pallet Town.] What do they sell here? I wanna try!
What are you, a snorlax? [ But fine, here, have the menu. There's sandwiches, fries, burgers and pizzas - and whatever else you want there to be on it idk. ]
No, he eats a lot more than I do! [The happy grin when talking about his pokémon abruptly disappears when Green places the menu in front of him, and Red takes it and gives the sheet one glance before fixing the other trainer with a pained look.] Aw, c'mon, can't you just tell me what's good to order...?
[ Whatever you weirdo. A waiter eventually comes over to their table to take their order, and fine, Green will do the speaking. ] Eggs florentine and sweet potato fries with a banana milkshake, jalapeño poppers and - what do you want to drink?
Soda pop! [Red holds out his menu to the waiter, and grins so sincerely that the man actually falters mid-sentence and laughs awkwardly with an embarrassed blush before thanking them both, promising their drinks will be out in a moment.
Not seeming to notice anything amiss, Red turns the same bright smile on Green after the waiter leaves.] Gee, I can't remember the last time I actually ate at a restaurant like this...it's pretty cool, huh!
Huh. Weird. You don't say. [ Yeah, this guy has never been good at deadpan sarcasm. He flicks his fingers like kicking an imaginary paper football (at Red's face). ]
I hear there's a snow mountain around in Sinnoh if you ever wanna get lost up one again.
Hm. [ It was a sorta real question! The guy disappears up a mountain for ages and then comes back down and does what, visit his mother today? What else? But does he want to ask? It's not like he cares that much...!
Eh, maybe he'll ask later. He'll just sit and wait for the food for now. ]
[Unfortunately, Red gets bored easily. Very easily. So after a few moments of silence he gives up on waiting for Green to add anything else to the conversation, and instead pulls out his phone. It's obviously new, and mostly not set up yet, which shows in the way Red pulls a face that quickly goes from eager to perplexed and back again as he takes too long to work through the buttons for EVERYTHING.
Whether it's opening apps, scrolling, following onscreen instructions, or pretty much anything else that should be user-intuitive, using a smartphone effectively seems to be quite a bit slower process for Red than most people. Of course it is. He's Red.]
Y-Yes!! Sort of... [Said a little too quickly, and defensively, even if he's too stupid to flat-out lie about it.] I've never had a phone like this before, so it's hard, is all!
[That's what you get, for living on a mountain for three years and spending all your trainer winnings on vitamins before that.]

He sighs after, tapping at the table with a finger. Great, gotta wait. ] Mt. Silver doesn't have restaurants? That's surprising.
