Ah-- Of course I mean it! Red.... Red are yah alright? I didn't mean to make yah cry over it... [ack ack, oh sweetie, no tears-- Ethan just puts his hands to Red's face, wiping tears away for him. He thought Red would just laugh and think he was being silly, Ethan had no idea it would mean so much!]

D-don't be sorry, there's nothin' to be sorry about! [Ethan is so concerned, but it was also nice to see Red so worked up over this. Ethan knew how much he loved Red, so this made it pretty clear that Red felt the same way towards him. His heart was beating like crazy]

And I love yah even when yah do something dumb! I-I'm pretty dumb, too, after all..! [he chuckles at how bad that sounded, though be meant for it to be sweet]

[ Red opens his mouth to say something - then he gives up, smiling again, and settles giving Ethan a kiss. He can't really say it any better than that. ]

[Happiness forever, Ethan returns it softy.

Though, really, 13 year boys cannot marry 15 year old boys, Red, that doesn't happen. They can, however, go on a few years worth of adventuring around the world, seeing other regions together and making there way with battle winnings. Ethan made sure to save a good amount from every battle (as his mother taught him!) and once they're 16 and 18 respectively, he had enough money to get them wherever they wanted tom to get married.

And he's all too happy to hear about New York Unova! They could go there and get married right away!]

Red! Red-- I found us a place! [BEAMING. They could settle down and not have to live out at campsites, anymore!]

[ Well, Red’s not exactly the best authority on how old is old enough to be getting married – his parents got hitched when they were 15 and 16, respectively, although given how long that lasted he probably should have taken it as a clue that waiting a little longer would have been a better idea.

But regardless, he’s more than happy to spend those years with Ethan – he couldn’t think of anywhere he’d rather be. He’s been better about keeping in touch with home, too. ]

A place? [ Red looks puzzled for a moment, then he just grins. He’ll trust Ethan wherever he says they ought to go next. ] …Okay, then! Where is it?

It's over the sea! We can get a boat ticket, or ride in a plane, but... It's a region called Unova. [Ethan is entirely too happy!]

They gotta a whole buncha battle competitions, a global one even, and we could get married whenever we wanted to!

Huh? Unova? [ What is being aware of the world around him? And then the rest of the words actually sink in. ] … Wait, really? That sounds amazing! You mean we could get married this year?

If we got on a plane tonight, we could be married tomorrow. [he could print out the paperwork and fill it out on the plane]

Hahaa! Y-you really wanna get married just like that? No plan... just, go? [Ethan liked that, he had never fancied some big wedding. It also didn't help they'd be far from family and friends, so a ceremony would be pretty pointless. But he wanted to make sure Red wanted it to be low key!]

Is...is that what you want? [ Because if it is, Red's happy. Big ceremony, court stamp officiator; he doesn't care. Sharing the news with everyone will be enough celebration for him, and as for the 'getting married' part itself - that's just him and Ethan, right? What else do they need?

Besides, Misty will insist on throwing the two of them a big party anyway once they get back. ]

I would be happy with anything, Red, so long as we were married. [Ethan looks pondering]

But I admit, a big party would be fun. Cake and family, friends...

You could wear a pretty, white dress! [he's teasing, he teased a lot more as he got older, but all in good fun]

[ And even after all these years Red still has a hard time getting it when people joke around with him. ]

W-Wait, why do you want me to wear a dress? I-I'm a boy! [ He'd wear it if Ethan ~wanted~ him to, of course, but this is sort of throwing him for a loop coming out of nowhere. ]

[Ethan just laughs wholeheartedly! He didn't tease rough, just tried to get an extra blush out of his fiance. It wasn't very difficult.]

You'd be so much extra cute! And I can't wear a dress, I'm too tall. [don't fall for this, Red, really, sweeties, honey...]

Y-You really want me too? [ AUGH he might actually DIE of embarrassment, but - but he'd totally die for Ethan anyway, s-so it looks like he'll just have to get used to the idea!! ] I - I guess I can. But everyone will laugh...

Of course I am. If yah got shoved into a dress, that's all you'd be thinking about-- I want yah to be thinkin'bout me when we finally get married. [he speaks quiet and lovingly, cuddling close, hands softly tracing Red's neck]

I know all I'll be thinkin' about is you.

[ Red's voice is a little hoarse, after he finally manages to recover from how much those words affected him. ]

I - I - o-of course I'll be thinking about you! [ He trembles a bit at the light touches. Doki. Doki. Doki. ] I c-can't believe we're really getting married, Ethan...

[Ethan wraps his arms around Red, cuddling him. Ethan was always affectionate and touchy, but he hadn't pushed it beyond making out. He would wait until they were married, he swore, because he knew that's what Red would like most.]

I'm shakin', a bit, I can't wait-- [Ethan kisses Red on the lips] I'll buy you a ring real-quick. Anyone yah want, I saved up a whole buncha money for us.

You - You did? [ Red is touched. He's so thoughtless with his own money, he never learned how to save and so it always humbles him when Ethan wants to buy him nicer things. ] It can be any ring. Y-You know that's not the part that matters.

[Ethan made sure to take a bit of Red's and his own winnings and put it into the savings too, so it was really their money.]

I know that, but you should love your ring! So every time yah look at it, yah think of me!

[ Well, if it were up to Red, they would spend it all on Carbos, so Ethan should consider himself the rightful master of money. Also he is getting affectionate neck nuzzling for that comment. ]
