[ well, at least bokuto is willing to admit to being lost right away instead of whipping up false bravado about knowing what he's doing. that makes things a little bit easier, as akaashi pulls out his pokeball for his pidgeotto to appear. ]

Kon, can you find which direction it is back to the lake front?

[ kon squawks and flies up, searching around for the way. it really shouldn't take too long... ]

[ If they hadn't been wandering around for so long and the evidence weren't so damning, he would have spent another half hour at least keeping up the act - but instead his eyes flicker up, following the Pidgeotto's path. Who knows where they ended up, or how far they are from the lake... Luckily for the two of them, they're not caught in the middle of a storm, but Bokut can see some clouds in the distance, promising more snow.

It's then, as he contemplates how to pass the time until Kon's return, that he gets an idea. A brilliant one? Depends on who's asking. But at least Bokuto won't be sulking about being lost for long.

He calls out his Skarmory (the only one of his team to not have a complete weakness to ice) and takes a few steps forward, creating more space between them. ] Hey, hey, hey! [ Then, without warning, he scoops up some snow in his hand, forms it into a rather messy ball, and throws it at Akaashi. ] Heads up!

[ THEIR EYES HAVE MET, THEY MUST DO BATTLE ]

[ the clouds are a little worrisome, but he knows they're on the main path, just not sure where on it. he made sure of that much, so they shouldn't be out here for too much longer. he hopes.

akaashi turns around surprised when skarmory is called out, wondering why would bokuto bother. this isn't one of those jobs where two pokemon is better than one: all they need to do is find out which direction to go, it won't take kon that long to find the way--

splat

the snowball hits akaashi square in the chest. ]

...That's cold, Bokuto-san.

[ LET THE BATTLE BEGIN ]

[ Bokuto can't help but laugh a little at Akaashi's response - not out of malice, but glee. Direct hit!! Bokuto: 1, Akaashi: 0.

His Skarmory spreads its wings, letting out a cry, while Bokuto poses with his hands on his hips. ] Akaashi, I challenge you to a snowball battle! Me and Knight versus you and one of your Pokemon! [ He'll make no move to make another snowball until Akaashi verbally accepts or makes a move of his own. ]

[ part of akaashi wants to say no, they shouldn't be screwing around while they wait for pidgeotto to come back, or admonish bokuto of even thinking about playing a game right now. but a bigger piece actually thinks playing would be a good idea. it would give a chance for him to train one of his other pokemon how to deal with the ice, especially if they were going to stick around looking for ice pokemon and trying to evolve his eevee the way he wants.

besides, keeping bokuto from pouting all day about it is a huge plus. ]
