[Near might be a bit of a stretch but his Drifblim makes short work of the distance and he can always take the same route back. This is what you get for never earning any badges, Iwaizumi!

He thanks his Drifblim, tucks him away in his pokeball and releases Hajime instead. She's definitely missed her namesake Oikawa's old friend as much as Oikawa and shouldn't have to wait a second longer than she has to to see him again. And so it's the footsteps of six that Iwaizumi will hear as Oikawa approaches.]

Hajime, you really need to stop eating grass because I'm not running out of the next hotel that you throw up in. [It's so not good for her. But she stops inspecting the clump of grass to delicately sniff the air. Oikawa looks too and breaks into a grin when he spots the shape of what might be-] Iwa-chan!

Yo, Oikawa.

[Iwaizumi stands up and brushes off the seat of his pants. His own Pokemon perk up and run up to Hajime to greet her; Iwaizumi just takes his time. When he is close enough, he kneels down in front of Hajime and pats her head before looking up at her trainer.]

Huh. Looks like you're still chasing the championship. How's it working out?

[Wigglytuff stands next to Oikawa tugging at his sleeve. Despite how cute she looks when she's starry-eyed, Iwaizumi didn't quite want to admit that his own Pokemon is a fan of his best friend.]

[Oikawa makes a non-committal noise as he crouches down to give Iwaizumi's Wigglytuff a hug. She's cute and squishy, how could he not?] I'll get there soon enough. I'm taking my time to make a name for myself and bond with my pokemon. They need me, you know.

[Hajime butts into Iwaizumi's hand and yips softly, hoping that Iwaizumi will keep patting her. It would be easy to think that Oikawa didn't pat her plenty with the enthusiasm she's giving him.]
