[Oikawa's more than a little startled when the other person vanishes instead of sticking around. Surely the repel doesn't work on people? And what is a "tsukki"... can he put it in a pokeball?

Oikawa clicks his fingers to Hajime - twice quickly, their signal to make her stay - as he approaches the spot where the boy vanished to.

Wait- he's not being lured into a trap is he? Oikawa shakes the idea free. That's paranoia talking. He and Hajime are just triumphant explorers and very intimidating to others! But be damned if he's not going to check to see if this boy has any water pokemon to help with his overrepelled problem.

Hajime follows a few steps behind having ignored Oikawa's command.]

[Yamaguchi doesn't say anything as the other boy draws nearer to his hiding spot. He doesn't think he could talk now without keeping his voice from cracking.

At least forcing himself to think about Tsukishima's calm, collected approach to battling provides Yamaguchi the strength needed to stand up on shaking legs. He weakly holds out one of the few poké balls clipped to his belt as Oikawa rounds the side of the ledge and steps into view.]

Y...Yeah? [He really wishes he could just say out loud that all his pokémon are knocked out, and there's no point in asking for a battle. But Yamaguchi knows by know that's just an invitation to get robbed or worse. For now, he has no other choice but to bluff and hope Tsukki or some other savior/witness comes along, in case this trainer isn't any nicer than the ones in the cave.]

[Oikawa makes an involuntary gurgling sound at the back of his throat when he sees that the boy is holding out a pokeball. Why would he want to battle? He just came out of a cave!!

Hajime could take him though. :T]

Do you really want a battle? [Because all Oikawa wants are the cobwebs out of his hair.]

[Yamaguchi gapes at Oikawa, startling with his whole body as he drops his arm down fast enough to pop the joint in his shoulder.]

You don't?!

Y-You looked at me, so...I thought that...! [He sounds painfully hopeful at the prospect of avoiding a fight, though.]

[Oikawa rolls his eyes. Is this boy blind to the state he's in? (Things Oikawa is not considering: he looks exactly the same if not a little better than most trainers who exit the cave.)]

No! I want a shower. [Or a bath or a bed. Why is he out in the wilderness? He hates nature and everything in it.

He eyes him suspiciously.] I'll win if you challenge me, you know. [Hajime sneezes because she's there, too and he thinks that means she agrees.]

[tsukkinice]

[Yamaguchi makes another panicked sound and wildly shakes his head, with his hands gesturing outstretched before him. ]

N-No way, I'm definitely not...er, challenging you!! I don't want to fight!

[tooruler]

Then we won't fight!! [Jeez, he knows it's tradition with the eye contact thing but it's not that hard to understand that he doesn't want to and they don't have to.

He's also a little wary of those hands, what's he trying to do? Fend him off? Attack him? It's concerning.]

... Why are you launching out at people if you don't want to battle?

I'm not launching at anyone! [He was just waiting for someone to come out of the cave who'd be able to help him. Preferably Tsukishima.]

[Oikawa rolls his eyes. Because this kid so did. Oh yeah and he yelled that thing.]

If you weren't then what's a "tsukki"? [Because he's going to catch one. :T]

[tsukkinice]

H-Hey! Don't talk about Tsukki like that! [Because Yamaguchi may be all alone out here with two fainted pokémon and no supplies but he still has priorities]

[He frowns.]

What is Tsukki? [If it's not a pokemon and it's this kid's best friend it could be anything. A tree. A rock. Anything.]

Tsukki's human! He's a pokémon trainer, and he's amazing!

[Ugh. And here he was thinking he could put another pokemon in his pokedex.]

I bet he's not as amazing as me!

Hey! You better not be saying you can beat Tsukki in a Pokémon battle!

Of course I can! I'm one of the top up and coming trainers, I can beat anyone. [Apart from Ushiwaka but that's irrelevant!!]

Nuh-uh!! [A VERY MATURE AND CONCISELY DELIVERED ARGUMENT!!! How will the defendant respond!?]

Yuh-huh! [Ladies and gentlemen, what a comeback! Secure and revolutionary in its simplicity!!]

There's no way you can beat Tsukki! He's really smart and amazing at pokémon battles and everyone says he's gonna be a great trainer someday– [just like his brother, Akiteru] –maybe even the best!!
