There is! [He pauses for a moment to watch Yamaguchi's face, he really likes that face, especially its freckles and the way he really seems to give a damn about whether Oikawa is capable on his feet.

He breaks his gaze away and meanders into the kitchen, which is large and filled with top of the line equipment that looks barely used, to pull open the fridge. Its shelves have only one or two items of food on them, but there is plenty of juice and a bottle of soda water that Oikawa retrieves and offers to Yamagichi.]

[Yamaguchi takes notice of the way Oikawa seems to linger on his face, a moment too long to be unintentional—just as Yamaguchi's about to open his mouth to ask if there's dirt on him or something, the other boy abruptly breaks his stare and cheerfully leads them both into the Oikawas' kitchen.]

Ah. Thanks, Oikawa-san. ...I mean, Oikawa! [He's still not used to calling him that. Yamaguchi takes the soda water with a smile and steps back a bit so he can open it without bumping elbows, twisting the bottle top in both hands to pop the lid.]
tooruler: (you got me~)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-04-04 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
[As Yamaguchi twists the top, Oikawa watches his hands, which are nice and he finds heat rising to his cheeks. He has it bad. It's so strange even liking being with someone as much as he likes being with Yamaguchi, with the exception of Iwaizumi, and that barely counts when he's known him so long, he just doesn't do attachment to people. And it's fun. He likes that he came, that he's in Oikawa's kitchen. Which might be something to tell Yamaguchi.]

I'm glad you're here, Yama-chan. [He continues watching Yamaguchi's hands as he offers him the bottle of vodka and a glass.]
tsukkinice: (What's with this?)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-04-04 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Yamaguchi pauses, glancing up without taking the glass for a second's hesitation. It's not exactly a provocative thing that Oikawa said, so this time there's no accompanying blush. But Yamaguchi's still surprised, and something in his chest flutters a little at the sincerity he hears in Oikawa's voice through the alcohol-induced slurring.]

I…I'm glad I'm here too. [And he means it! With a quick, almost shy look that quickly darts away to the counter, Yamaguchi takes the vodka and sets it and the glass down on the counter.] I'm not really sure how much to add.

[With Oikawa's reactions as slow as they are, it takes him a moment to put together what Yamaguchi is talking about, and he blinks slowly for a few seconds before his brain finds enough energy to reply.]

It depends how quickly you want to catch up, Yama-chan. [He moves over to observe Yamaguchi and the vodka by way of draping down onto Yamaguchi and pressing against his back with his head on his shoulder. His extra couple of inches help him fit nicely and really he can't think of many things better than being drunk in the company of Yamaguchi.] If you can stomach half and half that will help you along.
tsukkinice: (They've caught up with us...!)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-04-09 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Gwa–!! [Yamaguchi knew Oikawa was feeling reeeeally affectionate tonight, the alcohol playing a large part in that, but having the older boy that close against that much of his body that suddenly still catches him totally by surprise.

He twists his head over his shoulder that Oikawa's occupying with his chin, trying to catch a glimpse of his face.]
O-Oikawa-san…?

[For once, Oikawa isn't on high alert for other people's reactions, he picks up that Yamaguchi's distress - it's hard not to - but he can't find it in himself to care. And he likes that face that's twisting to see him.]

Yes, Yama-chan?

Um…sorry. It's nothing. [Feeling his face go embarrassingly hot—this time definitely because Oikawa's being provocative (but does he mean to be?? Or is he really just that drunk?!)—Yamaguchi turns his eyes back firmly toward the soda glass to avoid the other boy's tipsy and heart-wrenching smile. Yamaguchi tries not to let his imagination wander enough to let the heat flaring beneath his skin and in his gut spread anywhere else, but even so his hands shake badly on the vodka bottle and he ends up pouring probably a lot more than he meant to.]

Ah… [Yamaguchi grimaces as he inspects the glass, hoping it only looks halfway filled to the top because of the ice in it. The liquid inside still seems like a lot, meaning it'll probably taste like stain remover, but he can't exactly pour out Oikawa's parents' vodka right in front of him. Yamaguchi's not sure that much alcohol could be anything but an improvement at this point, anyway. He doesn't want to seem like such a flustered idiot that Oikawa can pick up on it even through the palpable cloud of alcohol that's saturating him.] Urk. Is that too much?
tooruler: (okey dokey~★)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-04-19 09:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Oikawa giggles - which should answer Yamaguchi's question about how drunk he is.] You're too much, Yama-chan~

[He presses his nose against the back of Yamaguchi's neck as he contemplates what Yamaguchi actually meant, when he speaks his lips brush across his skin and it seems much too hard to raise his head to change it.] I think it will work just fine but if you want to tip some out you're more than welcome to. [If it was anyone but his parents' alcohol he'd hate the waste, but wasting his parents' anything is high on his fun things to do list.]

[Crap oh crap oh crap oh crap–] R…

[DON'T JUST STAND THERE LIKE AN IDIOT, YAMAGUCHI. SAY SOMETHING. DO SOMETHING!]

…R-Right!! Just fine!

[And to prove how fine it is, Yamaguchi proceeds to clumsily pour half the soda bottle into his now-very-full glass. He's not bothering to look for a spoon or anything else to mix it with; his shaking hands ought to do the trick just fine.]

Umm, so, what did you end up drinking?! [Smooth. Yamaguchi's subject changes are so eloquent when he panics.]
tooruler: (okey dokey~★)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-04-22 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
[His lack of smooth goes unnoticed by Oikawa, who just hums and gives Yamaguchi's middle a squeeze - why has it taken this long for him to realise how cuddly he is?]

I made Iwa-chan make me cocktails, he's weirdly good at them and they end up super yummy. I had... [he counts in his head, tapping a finger against Yamaguchi's abdomen with each count but in the end and giving up and declaring:] lots. But then he started talking about baseball and I had to leave.

[Yamaguchi makes a small noise somewhere between a hiccup and a whimper, and then flushes scarlet and takes a gulp of his drink immediately after to hide how embarrassing that is. There's a swirling, churning sensation in his stomach that's just short of nausea hitting him at the same time as the burn from the mixed drink flares up in protest in his lower esophagus, but Yamaguchi can't tell if that's nervousness or the alcohol. He tries to think of something to say about Iwaizumi since Oikawa mentioned it, and it's a change of topic Yamaguchi ought to be grateful for.]

D-Did he know you left, Oikawa-san? Iwaizumi-san? That is, um…he just let you leave like that…?

[…] Hey, w-were you two alone? Or was it more like a party…
tooruler: (oooooo~)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-04-29 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
If it was a party I would have invited you. [His mumble sounds disgruntled, because of course he'd have invited Yamaguchi if it were that kind of thing. And if it wasn't a spur of the moment think he would have invited Yamaguchi over to Iwaizumi's as well.]

It was just me and Iwa-chan and he knows I headed home, he only lives down the road. [One of the many reasons he wound up as Oikawa's best friend, convenience helps a great deal with forming friendships. Oikawa brightens up which means he also gives Yamaguchi's middle a bit of a squeeze to communicate this.] Do you want to go say hi to him? He's been dying to meet you again! [More like Oikawa wants him to give his approval but that's irrelevant! The fact that he could barely stand up without wobbling has slipped his mind.]
