tsukkinice: (!?)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-20 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, now that Yamaguchi's seen what Oikawa looks like when he's really happy, getting a forced or incomplete smile immediately afterward is just going to make him anxious. Was Yamaguchi only imagining the look on Oikawa's face before? Or has he done something to upset him, somehow? Again?]

Finish...w-wait, Oikawa-san! Don't you want to drink it!? [What's wrong he wants to blurt out instead but he's afraid of getting shut down again.]
tsukkinice: (But I ran away at a crucial moment.)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-20 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
I don't want Kageyama to get drunk again. That'd be awful. [Yamaguchi sighs, bringing up his hands to rub the heels of his palms over his suddenly aching eyes.] He's so sad, Oikawa-san, I dunno what to do. He says he does this alot, like with the vodka last time, and it's no big deal, but I'm scared he's gonna keep going week after week till he gets sick or hurts himself, or, who knows...
tooruler: (well now)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-20 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's okay, no one can keep his actual smiles around long. And Yamaguchi will probably get to see it again at some point.]

I've had most of it, Yama-chan. And you haven't had anything to drink at all.
tooruler: (something meaningful about subjects)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-20 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
He'll cope, Yama-chan. [He both wants to know everything Yamaguchi knows about Kageyama being sad and nothing at all. Apart from reflexive hatred left over from middle school, he can't - doesn't want to - identify his emotions about him.]

Nothing phases him for long. His head is impervious from normal damages and I don't really think there's much going inside it.
tsukkinice: (H)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-20 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...if you really want me to...? [At least Oikawa's not asking him to eat off his spoon again? Then again, it feels weird to just reach across the table and take his drink.]
tsukkinice: (I'm heading this way.)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-20 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yamaguchi looks at him curiously, head tilting a little further into the couch as he uncovers his eyes.]

...Do you really believe that, Oikawa-san?
tooruler: (let's get down to business)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-20 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Shouldn't I? It's true. You should have seen him in middle school.

Ah, but he's easier to rile up these days. Makes him seem a little closer to us commoners.
tooruler: (okey dokey~★)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-20 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[He pushes his drink closer to Yamaguchi, oddly nervous about whether he will take it.] I insist, Yama-chan.
tsukkinice: (Could you teach me...)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-21 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yamaguchi withdraws into himself a little guiltily, bringing his knees up to wraps his arms around on the couch.]

...He really doesn't like being called that...
tsukkinice: (But...I'm jealous.)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-21 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
All right... [Hesitantly, Yamaguchi reaches forward and pulls the drink over the rest of the way, tentatively sipping through the same straw Oikawa already used out of habit. By the way his eyes widen in surprise, it's obvious he enjoys the taste.]

Whoa! That's even better than the cake.
tooruler: (what's next)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-22 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry, sorry. [He isn't, and doesn't sound it, but he'll say it anyway.] Really, you'd think he'd have accepted his place above us by now.
tooruler: (kawaii for the camera)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-22 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Oikawa might watch a little too intently as Yamaguchi sips from his straw. He's a sap and he likes that Yamaguchi didn't hesitate before taking it.]

I told you it was good, vanilla milkshakes are superior to most things. [Like things that are rich, spicy, too sweet, too salty, too bitter and so on.]
tsukkinice: (I'm the only first-year out of the loop.)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-23 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Yamaguchi closes his eyes tiredly and presses his face into his knees. He thinks he should feel mollified that Oikawa apologized, but it somehow seems worse than when Tsukishima says something awful and then refuses to take it back. Tsukishima rarely says anything he doesn't mean, Yamaguchi thinks to himself through a haze of vodka.]

Mm-hmm... [Now more than ever, Yamaguchi wishes he hadn't brought up the topic of Kageyama to begin with. That's got to be the fastest way to get Oikawa on his bad side...]
tooruler: (bean?)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-23 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Not necessarily his bad side, but the side that makes him either stop pretending that he's happy or put on his falsest smiles that not even the most socially inept could mistake for sincere. The side that he hates but can't stop.

It doesn't sit well that Yamaguchi didn't agree with any enthusiasm. But he is his friend and Oikawa can't expect him to enjoy insulting him. Except where he almost wants to. He takes a deep breath. Changes the subject.]

Are you tired, Yama-chan?
tsukkinice: (No kidding.)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-23 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Yamaguchi finds himself smiling again, because oh, that's cute.] Is that your favorite food, then, Oikawa-san?
tooruler: (okey dokey~★)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-23 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Yamaguchi's smile is so nice. He's glad he gets to see it.]

Not at all, though it comes close. Milk bread is my favourite. [Is there a trend here? Yes there is.]

Do you have a favourite food, Yama-chan?

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-23 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
Er, nothing too exciting—my favorite's french fries...
tooruler: (kawaii for the camera)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-23 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
French fries? [As a favourite food. That's adorable and he's trying not to show how amused he is but... but he is amused.]
tsukkinice: (You could do it for a bit)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-23 09:48 am (UTC)(link)
Not all of them...if they're really crispy, that's no good. [yamaguchi, why do you enjoy soft floppy french fries. you need to love yourself]
tooruler: (c'mon)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-23 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
[He likes dipping his bread in his milkshake so he shouldn't judge. Especially when, given french fries, his temptation is also to dip them in his milkshake, a habit Iwaizumi actually succeeded in driving out of him. But he is judging. Just a little.]

You like your french fries not crispy? [Now there is a real undercurrent of laughter in his words. Hopefully Yamaguchi won't take offence.]
tsukkinice: (Eh?)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-23 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Yamaguchi's smile does falter a bit at the corners, sensing...something, he's not quite sure what, out of Oikawa's amusement regarding his answer.]

Um...yes...is that weird? [That's what he says, at least, his meaning is closer to 'Is that bad?']
tooruler: (kawaii for the camera)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-23 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
A little weird, Yama-chan. [Has he not told anyone that his favourite food is limp french fries before or is it just that Oikawa is the only one to think it's hilarious and adorable?] Most people think that the good thing about french fries is their crispness.
tsukkinice: (...All right. Well...)

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-23 10:36 am (UTC)(link)
[It's a few seconds for Yamaguchi to process the words; a few more for the gears in his head to turn enough so that he can work out there's a change in subject. It's welcome when it does get through, though, Yamaguchi doesn't want to make his guest uncomfortable anymore with questions about Kageyama.]

Tired? ...No, not more than usual. [He's kind of a sleepy person by nature, and the biggest difference the alcohol makes in that equation is how much he wants to find somebody else to curl up beside instead of passing out in the futon.] How come?

[personal profile] tsukkinice 2015-02-23 10:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Yamaguchi shrugs, comforted by the simplicity of that answer.] I'd rather wait a little while until they've gone soft.
tooruler: (like you even could)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-02-23 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Just wondering whether it's time to send you to bed. [He's feeling awfully tired all of a sudden and Yamaguchi's spirits don't seem overly high. If he's not ready to though then it's probably better to let him stay up until he's more sober.] But that sounds like you can hold out a bit longer.
