[ Green opens his eyes to a softer sight, the loud and curdling sound that came from Red's throat ringing in his ears. It wasn't just a sound though -- that was a scream. That's obvious once Green really thinks and registers it, but why would a scream like that ever come out from Red's mouth? And over nothing at all-

Really, just what the heck was up with that guy these days?

Handwaving, glares, and yelling that was so over the top it whizzed past funny and right into plain creepy. Green looks behind him, but -- it's not like Red wouldn't be fine. Maybe he just overreacted. Maybe he's overreacting right now, even be worried. He could've spooked Red really badly.

He shakes his head, and motions to Alakazam and Jolteon. ]
Come on.

[ Whatever, he'll figure it out later. They had a pokémon to find.

That pokémon finds them.

And it knew of them, of all of them, there in the depths of Cerulean Cave disturbing its territory. Other pokémon were drawn out by the commotion along the way, but everything calms to in time. And actually, this time, it really is too calm, and Green's the first to notice. They couldn't hear anything. Not even their own footsteps. Alakazam hadn't noticed, and not even Jolteon.

The attack happens suddenly.

They don't go down quietly. Not all of them get the chance to go down, though Alakazam, Jolteon, and Arcanine's bodies are silent soon enough, scattered over the cave floor with the pokéballs of their team mates - knocked from Green's hand, ripped away from his belt - joining them. They're unconscious, the only kindness shown to any of them during the bout, and even Green himself was left barely aware of anything after the force that hurled his back against the cave wall. If bones were broken after that Green doesn't know, down but too stubborn to stay still despite every ache shooting through him and an eye vision where nothing will stay still.

But he sees the blur of his own hand scraping forward, and the blur Arcanine's body to his left, and -- there, there's a pokéball, right there, shaking and rattling, right in front of him. And if he could reach for it (and the mass of white; it turns-- and walks, slowly, slowly), if he could get it, take it back-

(closer, closer)

He won't leave it there- ]
